Jared and I went to a cooking class yesterday by The Grove in L.A. We walk in and guess who is standing right near us? Ryan Gosling! Of The Notebook. Noah Calhoun! He was really nice and very friendly and a cutie :) He made fun of Jared and me because we thought we ruined the carbonera sauce. All the old(er) ladies loved him, one lady couldn't get enough of him. She kept chatting with him through the whole thing, but he was very nice about it and talked to her for a long time. He was basically just like Noah from the movie.
Other than that, the cooking class was so much fun! We learned a lot and all the food turned out amazing. The carbonera, which we thought was ruined, actually turned out really well. The chef Christian Rinaldi said we did a good job, even though he made fun of us the whole time because we didn't "render" the fat off the bacon first. Which, I had no idea what that meant. But, now we now it just means to cook all of it off :P and we'll make it better next time. MMMM I'm getting hungry just thinking about all the good pasta we had!
After the class, we randomly ran into one of Jared's big bro's from Sig Ep at Cheesecake Factory. We hung out with a small group of his friends that were in LA for a birthday party and then went to another house where another of Jared's friends was having a birthday party. All of Jared's friends were really nice and really friendly. And their girlfriends were nice too!
Oh, also we went to Farmer's Market and had the most amazing crepes and French Onion Soup from a Zagat rated crepe stand. All of the stands there are Zagat rated! It was pretty sketchy looking, but everything tasted really good. There was also live music, so that made for a really fun atmosphere. We spotted a Cajun place on the way out that Jared wants to try next time we're in the area. Last time we tried to go to Farmer's Market, we ended up in Inglehood....so I'm happy we finally got to try it out!
