I recently discovered my love for Dada.
I love the "anti-art" of it and how Dada takes nothing seriously and yet produces art with very powerful messages. Take this one for example:
On the bottom it says: "The little man asks for big donations." Hmm, similar to anything in the economy today? Not that I'm relating any of the failing business to Hitler. I just thought in light of all the businesses asking for bailouts...it was an interesting comparison.
In other news...I bought most of Bear's Valentine's present yesterday. I decided (in the spirit of my mother's gifts) to make him a basket. I filled it full of things that have to do with things we've gone and done. At Cost Plus I found the big bottle of lemonade we had at the Farmer's Market crepe stand ...I found souffle dishes because he's been wanting to make souffle for a long time and I keep insisting you need souffle dishes to do this. I found heart shaped pasta because we're always cooking together. I found chocolate covered fortune cookies because we both love PF Changs...also, a little bottle with reasons why I love him
AND....Sprinkles cupcakes will complete the basket. M and B said I make them feel like bad girlfriends and they were both really impressed.I think when I'm finally done putting cellophane around it (and when the cupcakes are finally put in) it will look really nice. This is a (bad) picture of the *unfinished* project:
