Finally Friday

This week went by fast. I feel like I did absolutely nothing all week. Oh, wait. That's because that's exactly what I did. Except yesterday. Which is when the Bear and I had a little {mis}adventure. 

It all started this school year when Jared and I became obsessed with Sprinkles cupcakes. Oh. They. Are. Delicious. And not just because Oprah says so. Trust me. I've been there more times than I can count. Getting a little sidetracked there. We then wondered if Sprinkles were the best cupcakes in SoCal. As if the hour wait for Sprinkles isn't enough proof. We then went to Vanilla and (unfortunately) Yummy Cupcakes. Don't trust anything with "Yummy" in the title. Gross. 

Soon, I came across a list of the cupcakeries that had competed in the Best Cupcake bake off! A whole list of 50 delicious cupcake bakeries! Here was our answer. I looked at the list and noticed the first entry: Alsace Lorraine. I noticed the second entry: Baby Cakes. The third: BabyCakes Baking. The fourth entry: Crumbs. Sprinkles was a little more than half way down the list ending with Vanilla and Yummy. I was so confused. How could there be 40 better cupcake places!? 

I decided we had to investigate these so called better places. Beginning with BabyCakes because it had the cutest name and was listed third. BabyCakes is in Torrance which is....about 45 min away.  But, we were on a mission to find the best, so off we went to Torrance. 

BabyCakes certainly was pretty cute. It has cute little decorations and cute little tables and chairs. The Bear and I got three cupcakes: strawberry, chocolate chip, and vanilla. No Red Velvet which is the best cupcake. We tried each one. Not bad. But, certainly not better than Sprinkles. 

That's when it hit me.

3. Baby Cakes

4. Crumbs

40. Sprinkles

49. Vanilla

50. Yummy

Notice anything??? 

I'll give you a hint. 

ALPHABETICAL ORDER. 

The list was NOT in ranking order. And we had just driven to Torrance. That's like driving from Bountiful to Provo for a cupcake people!! 

After this startling revelation, (and after Jared said: "Now I know why your cars an Acura" har.har.har) the Bear and I went to Lucilles. Which IS the best BBQ in the world. 

And I don't need to look at a list to prove it.
